On February 2, 2021, the Indian wedding planning platform WedMeGood suffered a massive data breach, leaking the personal information of approximately 1,306,723 users. The leak included sensitive data such as email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, and the names and contact details of the users.

The affected records were reportedly taken from WedMeGoods MongoDB database, which was left exposed without a password. The breach was discovered by security researcher Anurag Sen and confirmed by WedMeGood in a statement, stating that they had taken immediate action to secure the exposed database.

The leaked data was made publicly available on a dark web forum, where users could download the compromised data. The leak has raised concerns about the safety and security of sensitive user information stored by online services.

As a result of the breach, WedMeGood faced backlash on social media, with many users expressing outrage and demanding answers about the security of their data. The company has since issued an apology and promised to enhance its security measures to prevent such breaches in the future.
