In 2019, Royal Enfield, an Indian motorcycle manufacturer, suffered a significant data breach where approximately 420,873 records were leaked. The leaked information included personal details of customers and employees, which was made available online.

The compromised data included date of birth, email addresses, gender, and real names of individuals. Moreover, the hacked database also contained passwords, phone numbers, and addresses of those affected. Notably, the breach also exposed social media profiles and vehicle details for some users.

The leak is believed to have occurred due to a vulnerability in a third-party application used by Royal Enfield. The incident highlights the importance of securing customer data and emphasizes the need for organizations to implement robust cybersecurity measures to prevent such breaches from occurring in the future.
