The Roblox database leak in 2016 refers to a data breach that occurred on September 14, 2016, where an unauthorized actor gained access to Robloxs user database, resulting in the leak of 49,747 user records.

The leaked information included a wide range of personal data, including usernames, email addresses, hashed passwords, IP addresses, and location information. Additionally, the leak also revealed user IDs, which can be used to gain access to user profiles and however, this information was not sufficient to login accounts.

The breach was discovered by a Reddit user who analyzed the leaked data and reported their findings to Roblox. Roblox promptly took action to secure their database and notified affected users about the breach. The leaked data was also made available online for public access, but it was removed shortly after.

The leak highlighted the importance of robust security measures for user data and prompted Roblox to implement additional security features to protect user information.
