In 2020, RedDoorz, a Southeast Asian hotel chain, suffered a major data breach that exposed the personal information of its customers. The leak, first discovered by security researcher Bob Diachenko, compromised 5,890,277 records, making it one of the largest hotel data breaches in history.

The leaked data included names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, and passport numbers. The breach also exposed encrypted credit card information for a subset of customers. RedDoorz acknowledged the breach and stated that it was caused by a vulnerability in its third-party vendors system. The company apologized for the incident and implemented additional security measures to prevent similar breaches in the future.
