Mathway

In May 2020, a massive data leak occurred involving the Mathway app, resulting in the exposure of over 25 million records. The leak originated from a misconfigured Amazon Web Services (AWS) bucket, which was accessible to anyone with an internet connection without proper authentication.

The leaked data included usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, phone numbers, and order histories of Mathway users. The breach also exposed sensitive information such as exam papers, solutions, and user-submitted personal notes stored within the apps cloud-based platform.
