In 2016, a massive data leak occurred involving the popular online first-person shooter game Cross Fire. The leak exposed a staggering 12,865,609 user records, including sensitive personal information such as usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and hashed passwords.

The breach compromised the accounts of players from various countries, including China, Russia, and Southeast Asia. The data was believed to have been stolen from the games developer, Smilegate Entertainment, and sold on the dark web.
