According to reports, the breach was discovered by the hacking group Uncivil Servants, who claimed that they had accessed CoinTrackers database and extracted the sensitive data. The hackers then publicly shared the data on a popular hacking forum, making it available for download.
The leaked data is believed to have been gathered from 2017 to 2022, and includes information about users cryptocurrency transactions, accounts, and balances. This could potentially allow attackers to steal funds or carry out identity theft.
CoinTracker took to social media to acknowledge the breach, assuring users that they had notified affected parties and were working with law enforcement to investigate the incident. The company advised users to change their passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
