In 2016, a critical security breach occurred at Battlefy, a popular esports platform, exposing the personal information of its users. The leak, which compromised 83,610 user records, was traced back to an unsecured database that was accessible to the public.

The leaked data included sensitive information such as user names, email addresses, hashed passwords, and Discord IDs. Additionally, the leak exposed user IP addresses, country of origin, and registration dates. The breach raised concerns about the security of esports platforms and the protection of user data.
