In 2018, AerServ, a mobile advertising platform, experienced a data breach that exposed the personal information of 66,308 users. The leak occurred due to an unsecured Elasticsearch database that was left accessible to the public without a password.

The exposed data included names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, location data, and advertising IDs. This information could be used by malicious actors to target users with phishing scams, identity theft, and other types of cybercrime.
