In 2021, a massive data breach occurred at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL), exposing the personal information of over 5 million customers. The breach, discovered in October 2021, affected users of the companys e-commerce website, abof.com.

The compromised data included names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and order history. Additionally, the breach also exposed partial credit card information, including the last four digits of the card number and the expiration date. ABFRL has since taken steps to contain the breach and notify affected customers.
