The breach was initially discovered by security researcher Bob Diachenko, who found a public database containing the stolen information. Diachenko notified APK.TW of the breach, but the company initially denied that any data had been compromised. However, after further investigation, APK.TW confirmed the breach and issued a statement apologizing to its users.
